                                                  Passion of Photography

.
I have many passions in my life one being Photography. The picture you see here at the top is a photograph I took of a bean field, and I used a red filter to get the clouds to pop out like they do because the red filter darkens blue skies.
I am an art major here at Morehead and I want to be a photographer and have my own studio and dark room when I graduate. I have taken photography classes sense my freshman year of high school, and I have taken 5 classes here at college. I love the whole process that is involved in taking the picture or developing your on images. Its amazing how making different kinds of chemicals can make an image show up on paper. When you take a picture of something you are capturing a moment in time that might not ever be seen again, its like telling a story in one image. I love looking through old pictures that my grandparents have and to see the way they dressed and how they acted, I even like looking in the back grounds to see how different they lived and what they used then we do now.
I love taking pictures of landscapes, people, and night time photography. I will be taking an independent studies class doing night time photography and I’m really excited about it. It’s where you go out after dark and find places that have lights on like say Main Street of Morehead and you hold your button down and expose the film for 15 minutes of light and let go. Everything defiantly looks a lot different at night. I think a lot of people take black and white images for granted. In this day in age it’s all about the color and the sharpness of it that you don’t necessarily look at the image itself. My grandmother and mother didn’t like Black and white photography it wasn’t till after I stated giving them photographs that they really enjoys looking at them.
In the photography world there are defiantly more male figures in it than females. That makes it head for women to get their name out there and to be noticed as a famous or good photographer. I think that women feel more emotional tords what they are taking photographs of than men. I’m not saying all men aren’t like that but most.
Photography for me is relaxing and I can express myself in what I’m looking at. I hope one day I can be a great photographer and I hope that many people will be able to look at a picture I have taken and really enjoy it.
